How to Set Up Alerts for a Charity Stream
If you’re streaming to raise money for a charity that’s near and dear to your heart, chances are you want to raise as much money as you can to support the cause. A great way to do this is by setting up stream alerts for your charity donations to help your viewers get excited about raising money together for a good cause. Luckily for you, Streamlabs Charity is fully integrated with Streamlabs Desktop, which makes setting up your charity donation alerts incredibly easy. Keep reading to learn how.
How to Set up Charity Stream Alerts from Streamlabs Dashboard
Step 1: Publish your campaign (if you haven’t already, see this guide for details)
Step 2: From the integrations settings on your Streamlabs dashboard, click the dropdown next to Active Campaign to select the campaign you'll set alerts for.
Step 3: Next to the Active Campaign, select Manage Alerts. When the Charity Donation Alerts pop-up appears on your screen, read for more information, then select Continue. Finish the onboarding process, which walks you through the information you need to know about alerts, including a helpful video from our YouTube Channel.
Step 4: When you’re done reading through the tips and tricks, you’ll be presented with the general Alert Box settings. Here, you should select Streamlabs Charity.
Step 5. Start customizing your Charity Stream Alerts. Here, you can tweak everything from your alert animations to the minimum donation amount required to receive an on-screen alert.
That’s it! Your alerts are set up.
How to Set up Charity Stream Alerts in Streamlabs Desktop
Setting up charity stream alerts is also very simple to do from Streamlabs Desktop. Below are the steps to do it.
Step 1: Launch Streamlabs Desktop and make sure you’re logged into the account you wish to stream from.
Step 2: In your Sources, select the plus sign (+).
Step 3: From the Add Source window, select Alert Box, then Add Source.
Step 4: After you’ve added an Alert Box as a source, a window will pop up, allowing you to customize what displays in the alert box. By default, a majority of alert options will be selected. Select only those that you wish to display—in this case, you want to make sure Donations is checked off and select it to begin customizing.
Step 5: Once you have selected Donations, you’ll be presented with all of the customization options similar to what you’d see via your Streamlabs Dashboard. Tweak your settings to your liking.
Step 6: Click the Test Widgets button near the bottom of your screen to double-check everything looks good.
How to Set up Charity Stream Alerts in OBS
Step 1: Head to the Alert Box settings on your Streamlabs dashboard.
Step 2: Click Copy next to the widget URL.
Step 3: Open OBS and click the plus sign (+) in the Sources panel.
Step 4: Next, select Browser to begin adding your Alert Box via the URL you copied earlier. Name your source (e.g. Streamlabs Alert Box) and click Continue.
Step 5: Paste the link to your Alert Box Widget, then select Ok to save your changes. Now, your Streamlabs alerts will appear in OBS. FYI, you can test your alert settings from the Alert Box settings page on your Streamlabs Dashboard.
