To use Streamlabs OBS Remote you need to have a phone capable of running the latest version of the Streamlabs Deck App.

Connect to Streamlabs OBS Over Local Network

  1. Have Streamlabs Deck app on your phone up-to-date.
  2. Connect your mobile device to the same local network Streamlabs OBS is on.
    • Make sure that 'AP Isolation' or 'Access Point Isolation' is not enabled.
    • If using a guest wifi point, allow devices to access the local network.
  3. Allow Streamlabs OBS through the firewall.
  4. Open Streamlabs OBS ⚙️Settings > Remote Control and click SHOW on the QR-code.
  5. Start the application on your phone and go to Remote Control
  6. Scan the QR code with the scanner.

Unable to connect Streamlabs Deck App

If you are still unable to connect to Streamlabs OBS, and you are sure you have opened the firewall and are on the same local network, go to ⚙️Settings> Remote Control and click SHOW on the blurred QR-code and then click Show Details below the QR-code and Generate New to generate a new API key. After doing so reboot your computer and try connecting the Streamlabs Remote again by scanning the QR-code.

Also, if your WiFi has multiple bands (like 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz) please try each one.

Unable to scan the QR code from Streamlabs OBS

Make sure the Streamlabs Deck app is closed before trying the following and then try to scan with another app capable of scanning QR codes, it should open your browser app and then automatically redirect to the Streamlabs Deck app, log you in the app as well as connect the Remote control feature.

Note: that it's possible the browser is blocking the redirection, if you are using Samsung's browser by example you might either need to enable the QR code scanner integrated to the browser and scan from it OR use a dedicated QR code scanner app that isn't the built-in camera app.

If you are still unable to scan the QR code, you can try to manually connect, go to ⚙️Settings> Remote Control and click SHOW on the blurred QR-code and then click Show Details below the QR-code.  Now go in the Streamlabs Deck app into Remote> Manual Connection here you'll be able to enter the corresponding information found on Streamlabs OBS Remote Control tab.

Connect RC with No/Broken Camera

This solution might work if you are able to run Streamlabs: Livestreaming app on an unsupported device where it notifies you that the scanner is not available yet (ex. Kindle Fire 5th Gen.).

If you have a mobile device with a broken or no camera and would like to use it for the Streamlabs OBS Remote Control you could try the following steps to connect the Streamlabs: Livestreaming app to Streamlabs OBS.

  1. Follow Step 1 to 5 of the "Connect RC Over Local Network" steps listed above.
  2. Take a snapshot of the QR code and save this locally on your computer.
    • You can use win-key+shift+s to take a snip of a region.
    • Windows 10 has a built-in Snipping Tool to snip a region and save.
    • Other third-party apps around can do the same.
  3. Decode the saved QR-code with a decoder like this website
  4. Copy the raw or parsed text and email the link to yourself.
  5. Open the email on your mobile device and open the emailed link with Streamlabs: Livestreaming application.

Connect Streamlabs Deck Over Internet

It is possible to connect the RC via the internet but some advanced network knowledge might be required. Also, do keep in mind that if your home internet is on a dynamic IP address from your ISP that this IP can change and that you need to adjust this accordingly if changed.

  1. Make sure that SD is connected via Local Network first.
  2. Open and forward port 59650 in your router to the computer running Streamlabs OBS.
    • You can change the default 'external' port, but forward to 59650 internally.
  3. Open Streamlabs Deck app on your mobile device.
  4. Head to Remote> Manual Connection
  5. Change the IP to your Public IP address
    • To get your public address you can check out
    • If you used another port to forward replace the default port.
  6. Press OK and head back to Remote Control.
