In recent years, mobile gaming has seen an increase in popularity especially with popular titles like Fortnite and PUBG releasing mobile versions. While Twitch and other streaming platforms have been predominantly used by PC or console gamers, creators do have the option to stream from their mobile devices.
So how do you stream from an Android phone? It’s actually very easy! In this blog post, we’ll walk you through how to easily start streaming your mobile gaming sessions.
How to Live Stream on Android with Streamlabs
The easiest way to stream mobile games is to install a dedicated streaming app. While there are numerous options available for Android phones, including native platform apps like YouTube, we recommend using Streamlabs to stream from your mobile device directly to your desired social networks.
Since Streamlabs allows you to stream to multiple platforms (at the same time too!), you have more flexibility and less toggling back and forth between various apps. In addition, some streaming platforms have minimum requirements before you’re able to stream from your Android device. For instance, YouTube requires that you have at least 1,000 subscribers in order to stream from your mobile device using their app.
Step 1: Install the Streamlabs Mobile App for your mobile device.
Step 2: Open the app and login with your credentials.
Step 3: Choose what you plan on using Streamlabs for. To live stream your gameplay or other content from your phone, click ‘Stream your games.’ You can also live stream IRL by selecting the ‘Stream yourself’ option. Complete the following steps to ensure your phone can capture your screen.
Step 4: Customize your stream using the Editor Mode which allows you to add widgets, overlay themes, custom images and more. For an in-depth tutorial for using Editor Mode, check out this blog post.
Step 5: When you are ready to start broadcasting, click on the ‘Go Live’ button, choose the platform you want to broadcast to, and enter in a title and description of your stream.
That’s it! You’re ready to stream your mobile games or IRL.
Remember that when you’re streaming your mobile gaming sessions that you are sharing whatever is on your screen to Twitch or YouTube. Be careful that you don’t accidentally stream some private information. We highly recommend that you turn on Do Not Disturb while streaming to prevent that from happening.
