Twitch is a bustling live streaming platform constantly evolving to enhance the viewer and streamer experience. One such example is the transition from Autohost to Suggested Channels, a powerful feature that encourages community building. In this blog post, we'll deep dive into the Suggested Channels feature and provide step-by-step instructions on how to set it up for your viewers.
What is "Suggested" Channels on Twitch?
Suggested Channels is a feature available to all Twitch users. It enables streamers to curate a list of channels to be featured on their offline channel page. By leveraging this feature, streamers can support and showcase fellow streamers, which can be a great way to foster relationships with other creators.
Adding Channels to Your Suggested Channels List
1. To start, visit your Creator Dashboard and navigate to Settings.
2. From there, click on Channel and then Featured Content.
3. Under Suggested Channels, toggle the feature on.
4. Finally, select Suggested Channels to begin populating your list. Use the search box on the next page to find specific channels you want to suggest. As you find the channels you desire, simply add them to your list by clicking Add.
5. Once added, you can adjust the order by dragging and dropping channels.
6. To remove a specific channel from your suggested channels list, locate the channel's name on your Suggested Channels. Toggle over the channel’s name and click the Trash can icon next to it.
Suggested Channel Priority Settings
There are two priority settings to consider for your suggested channels:
- Select "Display channels in an order personalized to each viewer" to ensure that the viewer's preferences dictate the suggestion priority, regardless of the order on your list.
- Select "Display channels in the order they appear in the list" if you prefer to prioritize channels based on your personal recommendations.
Regardless of the priority mode chosen, suggested channels will only display channels from the list you curated.
Disabling Suggested Channels
To turn off the feature:
1. Visit your Creator Dashboard and navigate to Settings.
2. From there, click on Channel and then Featured Content.
3. Under Suggested Channels, toggle the feature off.
There you have it—you have the power to curate a list of recommended channels that will captivate and engage your viewers, even when you're offline. Embrace the potential of Suggested Channels to foster connections, showcase talent, and enhance the Twitch experience for you and your audience.
