New to YouTube or streaming to the platform using Talk Studio for the first time? In this tutorial, we'll walk you through how you can stream on YouTube via your web browser with Talk Studio from start to finish. In case you’re not familiar with Talk Studio, it is a browser-based live streaming software that allows you to customize your live stream in minutes with no downloads necessary.
To start live streaming on YouTube with Talk Studio, you will need a YouTube account first. Make sure you have your login credentials ready before you begin.
Step 1: Once you're ready, sign up or log in to Talk Studio.
Step 2: Start by verifying your YouTube Channel, if it’s not already. Verifying your account gives you access to features such as uploading videos longer than 15 minutes, custom thumbnails, and live streaming. Be sure to do this ahead of time because the verification process can take up to 24 hours.
Step 3: Next, enable your microphone and camera. If this is your first time logging into Talk Studio, be sure to allow your browser to access your camera and microphone when prompted. If you encounter any issues, simply reload the site and grant camera and microphone access when prompted.
You can also double-check this by viewing site information in your browser and enabling the microphone and camera options.
Step 4: Now, it’s time to add yourself to the stream. Add yourself to the canvas by hovering over your camera feed and clicking Show on Stream.
If you’re adding guests to your live stream, send them an invite by clicking Add Guest, share the invite link, and repeat the steps above to show them on stream.
Step 5: When your YouTube account is verified and you have your mic and camera set up for streaming with Talk Studio, it’s time to connect your YouTube account. Click the Go Live button, then click Add Destination in the next window.
Step 6: Next, choose YouTube from the destination options, log in with your YouTube credentials, and grant Talk Studio access.
Step 7: Once connected to your YouTube account, you’ll be brought to a Stream To screen. Here, you want to make sure YouTube is selected as a destination. You can also set the live stream to public, private, or unlisted.
- Public streams mean that anyone on YouTube can view your stream.
- Private streams are only visible to people you invite. They don't appear in search results or recommendations, and viewers cannot share the link with others.
- Unlisted streams won't appear in search results or recommendations; however, viewers can share your stream link with anyone they wish.
