Here at Streamlabs, we always talk about how important it is for you to promote your merch to increase sales, especially on social media. If you’re currently directing traffic to your Streamlabs Merch Store on Twitter, there is a new way for you to encourage your followers to shop —creating a Twitter Shop. As long as your profile is set up as a business page (and you follow the instructions in this guide), you can create a storefront on your Twitter that will direct your followers to your merch product pages in a more engaging way.
How to Set up Your Twitter Shop
The first step to setting up your Twitter Shop is adding products. There are four ways for you to do this.
Manual Adding: Manually input required information for each item you’re adding into your shop (best for shops with just a couple of items).
Bulk Adding With CSV File: Use the Twitter Shopping Manager CSV template to create an uploadable file. If you choose this option, you will be able to download the template from the same screen.
Scheduled Feed: Schedule automatic uploads.
Adding Through Partner: Connect Shopify to seamlessly add products from your ecommerce site.
Note: If you’re adding products from your Streamlabs Merch store, you’ll want to choose either the manual or bulk adding option.

GTIN refers to the Global Trade Item Number (unique universal product identifier) of the item. Enter the item's UPC, EAN, JAN, or ISBN. MPN is the Manufacturer Part Number of the item. We recommend using your name as the Brand for this field.

Activating Your Twitter Shop
Now that you have your products added to the catalog, it’s time to activate your store from your Shopping Manager Dashboard.
- Before you can set up shop, you must create a product set, aka group products together (even if you’re selling a single item). Simply go to Product Sets under Catalog.
- Next, select Create a Product Set, then choose between Manual Setup or Filtered Setup, and follow the steps to add products from your already added products.
- Once your product set is created, navigate to Overview under the Storefront options.
- Next to Shop, you should see it labeled either inactive or active. If your shop is inactive, click the Setup button.
- Under Shop Details, add your shop name, description, and product set.
- Once you input all the details, hit Publish towards the top right of your screen.
That’s it, your Twitter Shop is officially set up.
How to Create Twitter Shop Spotlight
Setting up your Twitter Shop is just one part of the equation. Now it’s time to put your products front and center by creating a Shop Spotlight. Below are the steps to do this.
- From your Twitter Shopping Manager dashboard, select Shop Spotlight under Storefront.
- Under featured products, select the product set you want to display. Keep in mind that only the first 5 products will be displayed in the spotlight.
- Once you’ve selected the product set, click the Publish button at the top right corner of your screen.
Now, when you go to your Twitter profile, you’ll see your products spotlighted at the top of your profile in a carousel. Note that you must be in the Twitter mobile app to see your Shop Spotlight.
Though it may take some time to ensure your Twitter shop is set up correctly, it’s relatively simple to do. We strongly encourage you to set up yours today to help generate more sales from your Streamlabs Merch Store. Have questions about Twitter Shops? Shoot us an email or submit a ticket.
