Nvad3’s dream to live stream was born out of a desire to prove his brother wrong. Now, with over 220,000 subscribers he is one of the top streamers on Mixer.

Streamlabs: What are your thoughts on Ninja’s move to Mixer?
Nvad3: So as you guys know, Ninja did make the move over to Mixer, and it’s a very exciting time for all of us. We’ve always felt like Mixer is a platform that just didn’t get the notoriety that it deserved. And when you have a creator, someone who was as big as Ninja, it changes everything. It forces people to take note of the platform and take a look at it and that increases everybody’s numbers all the way around. I’m genuinely excited about the future of Mixer. I think we’re going to see a big increase in viewers and I think we’ll also start to see a lot more people take a look at the platform and consider switching, which is huge in general. I’m excited about the future.
Streamlabs: What were your reasons for wanting to stream on Mixer vs. other platforms?
Nvad3: The reason that I even streamed Mixer, it was a complete accident. One day, my friend told me to broadcast and I didn’t feel like going through the entire setup.
So one day I literally said Xbox broadcast, it brought up everything. And when that happened, I just decided I’m going to stream on that platform. So I remember even texting my friends and telling them like, yo, I’m just going to stream on this platform today. And lo and behold, like literally, two years later, here’s where we are.
Streamlabs: What type of content do you usually stream?
I’m a big sports fan. Any fps game, even MOBA’s. Another one that I played is NBA 2K, obviously, Fortnite, Call of Duty. Anything that draws my interest, I’m down to play.
Streamlabs What inspired you to start streaming?
Nvad3: So, what inspired me to start streaming was that I always felt like that I could be more in this world. I remember texting my brother one day, and I told him, I was like, Yo, I think I’m going to become a streamer.
And he told me, literally you can’t do it, you’ll fail. I’ve always been a type of guy that if somebody told me that I’ll fail, I’ve always found a way to make it work. I’m going to find a way to be successful in it. Literally, all it took was for him to tell me that I couldn’t do it. That really made me sit down and really take it seriously as far as becoming a streamer and being an entertainer. I can thank my brother for that. I should probably go buy him something.
Streamlabs: Were there any major difficulties or challenges on your journey?
Nvad3: I would say time is huge because for me when you’re a streamer, you’re your own boss. You get out of it what you put into it. That was very hard for me to understand because I was always forced to get up to go to work or forced to do that.
But I pushed myself to go forward and continue because at the end of the day, you’re an entertainer, and people need that entertainment to get away from life. Whatever the challenges that they’re dealing with, they count on you. So if I’m not there, then I’m essentially letting somebody else down who may need me at that moment.
I take it very seriously because I don’t want to let anybody down. I want to be a light for other people who may be going through difficult things in their life.
Streamlabs Do you have any advice for new people just starting out?
Nvad3: I would say hide your view count. And the reason why I would say that is because a lot of people’s energy depends on if they have people watching them or not.
You never want your energy to be based on people watching. Because when you’re starting off, the chances of you having people watching you are not high. The last thing that you want is for somebody to come into your stream and the first time they see is you're just sitting there without any energy or you’re not having fun or you’re not talkative or whatever.
Work on making friends in the community or whatever platform that you’re on. Not the how can we mutually benefit off of each other type things or anything along the lines of that. But how can we just be friends and play together? How do we bring our communities together and work on growing together? Because the truth of the matter is you can’t do it alone. Nobody’s been successful playing by themselves the entire time.
Streamlabs: What is a game that has changed your life?
I think Fortnite has changed a lot of streamers life in general. But I remember I was playing NBA 2K on Mixer for a good three or four months and I had jumped up to about 35 to 40,000 followers.
It was an incredible thing at the time just to even have it on that. But I remember when Fortnite came out it was all the rage. Within a month of me switching to play, I had jumped up 35,000 followers and I remember after that we just took off.
Streamlabs: Did you ever think you’d be streaming full-time?
Nvad3: It wasn’t something that I really wanted to do. Like I said earlier it wasn’t something that I really dove into until my brother said that I couldn’t do it. After that, that’s when I was like, you know what, I think I might have a knack for this. So now that I’m streaming full time I can’t even put it into words how blessed I am. It’s been one of the greatest experiences of my life and I’m just ready for the future. In a sense, it is kind of weird to think that now I’m streaming full time as a career and my job is simply just to entertain people and have fun and play games. I never thought that I’d be doing it, but here we are.
Streamlabs: What’s the craziest thing that has ever happened to you because of live streaming.
Nvad3: Me and my girlfriend, we were on our way to Pax West. We had just landed and we were waiting for one of our friends so that we could all go to our place together. So we’re sitting there waiting and this kid and his dad are staring at me. I didn’t know what was happening. I’m like, why is this guy staring at me?
His Dad comes up to me and he’s like, “Hey, my son says he knows you.”
So I’m thinking at the time that he must think I’m Myth because I had a long hair, everybody thought I looked like Myth. But the kid comes up to me and he’s like, “Hey man, I watch you on Mixer.”
That was my first fan interaction. I still have the picture on Instagram. It kind of shocked me because that’s my first real fan moment.
That was something that I’ll never forget. I remember walking away almost crying with my girlfriend.
Streamlabs: What are some goals or aspirations you’d like to achieve in 2019 and beyond?
Nvad3: I want for people to come into my stream and always feel like they are welcomed. That they are happier for it. That if they were dealing with something, that I helped them get out of whatever they are feeling about it. I never want someone to come into my stream not feeling better. I just want to be able to help them in whatever situation or life problems they’re having.
Number two is I want to hit a million followers on Mixer. I’ve always wanted to do it on any platform, but Mixer specifically because this is the first time that I’ve really put my all into everything.
The third one is that I’ve always wanted to be a beacon of light to whoever’s watching me. I feel like growing up, I didn’t have those opportunities to watch a lot of people when it came to doing a lot of things that I wanted to do.
I want to be able to inspire people. To say, “if they made it, then I can do it.” And I think Mixer allows me to do that.
Once again, my name is Nvad3. You can check out my channel in description below. Thanks for watching.
