Jump Ahead:
What’s New?
Recently, we’ve made a couple of improvements to multistreaming with Streamlabs. Here’s what you need to know:
Multistream Chat
You can now view and interact with chat from Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook pages in one place, streamlining engagement (currently for Windows users only). Here’s how you do it.
Step 1: Start by going live to your platforms of choice. If you need a refresher on how to set up platforms for multistreaming with Streamlabs, check out our guide.
Step 2: Once you’re live streaming, head over to the Multistream chat in the main editor of Streamlabs.
Step 3 : The first time you open the multistream chat, you will receive a message asking you to grant Twitch permission to send messages (if Twitch is selected as one of your destinations). You cannot send messages to your Twitch chat without granting these permissions. Click the link and follow the instructions to do so.
Step 4: If you wish to change which chat you’d like to send messages to, you can do so from the dropdown menu. If All is selected, your messages will go to all supported platforms.
Support for More RTMP Destinations
Streamlabs now allows creators to add up to 5 custom RTMP destinations. So, if you wish to stream to more destinations that aren’t natively integrated with Streamlabs, you have that option.
Check out our guide for a detailed explanation of how to stream to a custom RTMP using Streamlabs.
How Multistreaming Works with Streamlabs
In case you need a quick refresher, here’s how multistreaming is different with Streamlabs. Instead of overloading your CPU by sending separate streams to each platform, Streamlabs uses a dedicated server to handle the multistreaming. Your computer only sends one video feed to Streamlabs, which then splits and distributes it across all selected platforms, reducing strain on your computer and bandwidth.
Why Choose Streamlabs for Multistreaming?
- Efficient Setup: Streamlabs Desktop, Web, and OBS Plugin versions make multistreaming simple and easy to manage.
- Customization: Stream in both horizontal and vertical formats using Dual Output.
- Grow Your Audience: By reaching multiple platforms simultaneously, you can build a larger and more engaged community.
Whether you’re multistreaming to build a community or maximize engagement, Streamlabs has made it easier than ever to do so across multiple platforms.
