As of November 16, 2022, streamers can go live on Twitch directly from their Xbox console with Streamlabs. With this update, the existing Twitch Xbox app will now be a viewer-only experience. We've outlined steps for going live through your Xbox and Streamlabs Console below. You can also check out our Getting Started guide to learn more.
Steps:
- Update your Xbox version to enable cloud broadcasting. If the update didn't initiate automatically, navigate to Available system updates and select Update manually. You can learn more about the Xbox update here.
- From the Xbox dashboard, click on the arrow up icon to open Capture and Share.
- Navigate to Live streaming.
- Select More options.
- Among other settings of your choice, pick Streamlabs from the dropdown at the bottom.
- Navigate back to the live streaming section and select Go live now.
You should now be live with your game of choice through Streamlabs Console. To check your streaming status, open the dashboard again. You will see Live streaming and live status next to it. To stop streaming, click on it and navigate to Stop live stream. With this change, the existing Twitch Xbox app will become a viewer-only experience.
This new update has made going live directly from your Xbox easier than ever! With Streamlabs Console, you can add overlays, alerts, and more to ensure your streams are as sleek and professional as if you were using a PC. You can even use your mobile device to read and respond to your chat, meaning you can stream straight from your sofa: no pesky cables to connect or apps to download.
