Dungeons and Dragons is a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) that has exploded in popularity over the years. This unique game allows players to put their imaginations to work to embark on monster-slaying and treasure-hunting adventures without a prewritten ending. Many streamers are now looking for ways to share their D&D gameplay with their audiences by live streaming their sessions on platforms such as Twitch and YouTube Live. Luckily for creators like you, the Collab Cam feature of Streamlabs Desktop is an easy way to invite guests to join your stream, making it an excellent option for streaming Dungeons and Dragons gameplay.
We’re excited to announce that Streamlabs Ultra subscribers now have the ability to use Collab Cam to invite up to 11 people to a stream in just a few clicks. In this article, we'll walk you through the steps to stream your next Dungeons and Dragons session using Collab Cam.
Setting up Collab Cam for Dungeons and Dragons
To get started, you'll need to download Streamlabs Desktop and follow the below steps.
- Launch Streamlabs Desktop and confirm your preferred streaming platform is connected and your equipment (camera, microphone, etc.) is functioning properly.
- Next, go to plus sign (+) from your Sources panel and select Collab Cam to add it as a source.
- Once Collab Cam is added to your Source Panel, select Collab Cam. First, you'll come across the Collab Cam welcoming page with brief instructions on getting started. Then, a pop-up should display a shareable link you can give to other players.
- When your game is set up, and your guests are ready to join in, it's time to start streaming. To do this, click the Go Live button in Streamlabs Desktop. Your guests can join your stream by clicking on the link you shared, whether with you IRL or playing virtually.
Pro Tip: If you and all the players are in one room playing the game IRL, each player can grab their mobile phone to use as an extra camera so your audience can see the game from each player's perspective.
