If you’ve ever noticed “Streamer Mode Enabled” at the top of your Discord screen and wondered what the heck it was, you’ve come to the right place. In today’s post, we’ll explain what Discord Streamer Mode is, as well as show you how to enable it automatically with Streamlabs Desktop.
What Is Discord Streamer Mode?
Streamer Mode on Discord sounds a lot more complicated than it really is. Essentially, it’s a kind of “safety mode” which protects your privacy while streaming. If you’re sharing your screen and you pull up Discord on stream, your viewers won’t be able to see certain personal information.
What Does Streamer Mode Hide?
Discord Streamer Mode currently hides:
- Your email address
- Connected accounts
- Notes
- Number tags
- Invite link information
Additionally, Discord Streamer Mode also suppresses Discord notification pop-ups and sounds—very handy when you’re in the middle of an important stream and someone decides to send you a (potentially embarrassing) message.
How to Access Discord Streamer Mode Settings:
Under “User Settings,” click on “Streamer Mode” in the column on the left side of the screen.
Here you can view and enable Streamer Mode Settings and even create a keybind (shortcut) to quickly turn it on. Though the keybind is useful, we personally prefer Discord Streamer Mode to automatically enable when using certain programs.
How to Automatically Enable Streamer Mode
If you link your Discord with Streamlabs, Discord will automatically enable Streamer Mode whenever you have Streamlabs Desktop open. As soon as you close the Streamlabs app, Discord will disable Streamer Mode. Since streamers have a lot of things to keep track of, automatic Streamer Mode is very handy for protecting your privacy.
First, make sure you have the “Automatically Enable/Disable” checked in Discord Streamer Mode (see the above graphic for reference). Then, go to your Streamlabs dashboard and click on “Settings” under “Account.”
Then, click on “Integrations.”
From there, you’ll see the option to link to your Discord. You’ll also see a link to join the Streamlabs Discord server so feel free to come on over and chat with us.
That’s it! Discord Streamer Mode will now enable automatically whenever you have Streamlabs Desktop open (even if you aren’t live).
