TL:DR: You asked, we listened. Stream Shift makes it easy to switch from PC to a mobile device without ending your stream or losing viewers. (Streamlabs Plugin for OBS and Meta Glasses support coming soon.)
Available exclusively for Streamlabs Ultra subscribers.
What is Stream Shift and Why Use It?
At Streamlabs, creators always come first. So when Tubbo approached us with a unique challenge, we jumped at the opportunity to innovate.
Many streamers start on desktop, then switch to mobile to continue an IRL session. Until now, that kind of transition meant ending the stream and risking viewers dropping off.
Enter Stream Shift, the feature that makes switching between desktop and mobile streaming seamless. Creators get one continuous stream and the freedom to move between setups without interruption.
Note: Stream Shift is currently available on Desktop, iOS, and Android. Streamlabs Plugin for OBS and Meta Glasses support is on the way-stay tuned!
How to Set Up Stream Shift
Step 1: Enable Stream Shift on each device you plan to switch between.
On PC: Open Streamlabs Desktop, set up your stream, and go live as usual. Then toggle on Stream Shift in the bottom-right corner.

On Mobile: Turn on Stream Shift by going to Main Menu ☰ > Stream Shift > Turn on Stream Shift.

Step 2: Start your stream as you usually would-set your title, category, and other details before going live.
Step 3: When you're ready to switch, open Streamlabs on your new device and follow the instructions below.
Shifting to Mobile from Desktop: When switching to mobile, tap Go Live on the main screen. Streamlabs Mobile will detect your active stream and prompt you to switch. Tap Switch to Mobile Stream to continue.

Streamlabs Mobile will confirm once it switches your stream, allowing you to continue broadcasting from your phone.

Shifting to Desktop from Mobile: When switching to desktop, you'll see a Claim Stream button instead of Go Live. Click Claim Stream to continue.
Streamlabs Desktop will detect your live stream on another device and prompt you to switch. Click Switch to Streamlabs Desktop to continue.

When Streamlabs moves your stream to Desktop, a confirmation message will appear. Click Close to continue streaming.

We built Stream Shift to give creators more control and flexibility when streaming across devices. We can't wait to see how you use it to keep your streams seamless and your audience connected.
Known limitations:
- Currently available on Windows PC only—Mac support is coming!
- Your devices may need to be on the same network to perform a Stream Shift, but support for using devices across different networks is coming soon.
- When streaming to YouTube and have Stream Shift on, please make sure your video output settings match between Desktop and Mobile app to avoid corruption on a switch.
- For example, if you stream with 1080p resolution with 5500 bitrate on Desktop, set the same values within Streamlabs Mobile.
- When streaming to Kick, if you switch from vertical to horizontal aspect ratio mid stream, the feed might be squished. Kick is aware of the issue and looking into the fixes.
