Today, we are proud to announce a new product called Cross Clip. This new tool is designed to take Twitch clips and convert them for use in social media applications like TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts. The process of conversion only takes two to three minutes and can be done with just one click. With this release, all streamers will be able to share their content across multiple platforms without having to manually edit each video clip before uploading it.
The goal in developing this tool is to create an easy way for streamers to make their content available online regardless of what platform they're using. TikTok has already established itself as a major influence in the gaming world. Now that the platform's upload limit has been increased to three minutes, gaming content is only going to become more important for streamers trying to reach a new audience.
“The first challenge for a new live streamer is building an audience. Sharing their content on platforms like TikTok and Instagram is critical,” said Ashray Urs, Head of Product at Streamlabs. “Cross Clip simplifies the editing process to a few clicks, allowing streamers to turn their live stream content into professional-looking vertical videos.”
With Cross Clip, streamers can either upload their own content, import their own Twitch clips, or simply enter the URL of a clip they want to edit.
The editor mode gives the creator complete control over what appears in the clip. Drag the camera frames around the screen to capture specific sections of the video, then adjust the layout on the finished video. Trimming the video is as simple as clicking and dragging to shorten or lengthen the video. Add additional camera layers or change the output to format for horizontal YouTube videos or square Instagram videos.
Cross Clip is available for free, but a paid plan called Cross Clip Pro is available for $5/month or $50/year. With Cross Clip Pro, streamers can remove the Cross Clip watermark as well as the outro video with the Cross Clip logo, and export in 1080p and 60 FPS. Cross Clip is also available on iOS where edited clips will automatically appear inside the app, allowing for easy sharing directly to TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube.
